ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated. • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning. • Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation. • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media to address the individuals or student groups involved. • Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. • Ascertain possible learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required. • Evaluates student progress on a regular basis. • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy. • Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested. • Monitor student progress to guide ongoing planning and instruction • Documents progress that learners have made in relation to the observed lesson objective • Utilizes instructional strategies to ensure students develop a deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways • Uses strategies that build learner self-direction and ownership of learning • Collaborate with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the profession.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • Current teaching certificate • Appropriately certified in Core Content Area • SEI Endorsement Required
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • High school teaching experience • Endorsement or extensive course work in multiple content areas • High school practicum or teaching experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: • Best practices in teaching and learning • Writing and executing lesson plans with subgroups and sub-objectives. • Student engagement practices • Best practices in the use of technology and student online learning platforms
Skilled in: • Locating and synthesizing best practices, emerging concepts, and new research in academia and education • Building relationships and creating enthusiasm with students, faculty members, and families. • Making data-driven decisions • Organizing and planning instructional support based on individual needs and priorities • Using data and technology to personalize learning for students. • Utilizing a variety of frameworks, platforms, and technology tools to enhance productivity and maintain appropriate records
