Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues reported by customers.
- Review and interpret customer requirements and specifications and may act as primary customer contact.
- Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.
- Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs, e.g., creation of schematics, bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
- Solve complex problems.
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and interpret data and information.
- Deeply familiar with network switch architectures.
- Deeply familiar with digital and analog circuits, high-speed buses, optical modules, AEC, and DAC cables.
- Ability to use test equipment such as, including but not limited to, oscilloscope, bus analyzer, network analyzer, meters.
- Ability to do basic soldering is required.
- Working knowledge of and ability to do SI and PI is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of scripting and Linux OS is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of Verilog and ability to program CPLD and FPGA devices is a bonus.
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
Typical Experience
- 10+ years in a similar role or industry.
Typical Education
Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Graduate degree is preferred.
