About the Job
Education, Training, and Experience
Must Possess a master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology (or have been grandfathered) and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence of ASHA in Speech/Language Pathology. (If such certificate has not already been earned, eligibility for and completion of said certificate is expected within one year of hire.) Maintain current licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Must maintain a valid and current driver’s license, and be insurable under Center insurance. Position may require use of personal vehicle in performance of job related duties and proof of PIP insurance.
Must pass and maintain all Center mandated trainings, and complete all required initial ECI training before working directly with children and families.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have strong communication skills (speaking, listening, exchange of ideas, problem solving, etc.) to understand and be understood in order to perform the following duties with favorable effect in person, in writing, and via telephone for clients, staff, and community.
Must have strong organizational capabilities in order to ensure the efficient and timely processing of a consumer through the early intervention system of services.
Must have the capacity to build rapport with consumers in order to assist in accessing community resources.
Must have the capacity to lift, hold, and play with young children, and move into and out of sitting positions on the floor, as well as sit at a desk.
Must be literate and possess basic math skills,
Skilled in the use of personal and network computers, word processing, database, spreadsheet and office management software (Microsoft)
Must have visual acuity of 20/20, depth perception, and have strong fine motor skills
