1st Class Carbon Steel Pipe Fitter

Location: Houma, LA

Position Overview: A 1st Class Carbon Steel Pipe Fitter performs layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of pipe systems. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 6 months of carbon pipe fitting experience and the ability to successfully demonstrate proficiency in various hands-on pipe fitting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of pipe systems.
• Apply a bevel using a grinder with a sanding disc.
• Cut the opposing end of the pipe to saddle a pipe of the same size at a 90-degree angle.
• Perform silver brazing of a socket joint pipe in the horizontal (flat and horizontal flow) and vertical (vertical up flow) positions per ASME requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 months of carbon pipe fitting experience.
• Ability to successfully demonstrate proficiency in the hands-on pipe fitter test, including:
• Applying a bevel using a grinder with a sanding disc.
• Cutting the opposing end of the pipe to saddle a pipe of the same size at a 90-degree angle.
• Performing silver brazing of a socket joint pipe in the horizontal (flat and horizontal flow) and vertical (vertical up flow) positions by ASME requirements.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of pipe fitting techniques and best practices.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to pipe fitting.
• Knowledge of ASME requirements for pipe fitting.
