has an opening for a Modification Center Technician in Final Assembly
This position will be for 1st shift, can be in St
Joseph, Mo
and Wathena, Ks.
To be considered for this position a person must have the following skills and qualifications:
Vocational school and/or knowledge/experience in basic electricity required; vocational school training preferred
Vocational school and/or knowledge/experience in automotive wiring, including knowledge of automotive electrical component technology required; vocational school training preferred
2 years of chassis wiring and knowledge of chassis programming preferred.Demonstrated basic welding and mechanical ability.Welding knowledge through experience or vocational school trainingAbility to pass a preliminary weld test and ability to complete AWS D1.1 Code certification within 60 days after being placed in a welding position.Ability to read/understand blueprints and drawings.Aptitude to use computer based automotive diagnostic equipment.Ability to work with engineering on a project basis.Knowledge of and, ability to use Altec's Quality Improvement Process.Ability to read and understand electrical related blueprints and schematics.Ability to work with customers on writing unit specs, as well as trouble shooting problems over the phone.Demonstrated ability to work under the team concept.Possess a good safety record.Internal Applications will only be considered for the position if the Associate:
Provides evidence in the application or attached resume that they possess the required qualifications for the job posting;has not been hired or selected for a position within the last twelve months (excludes career path promotions); has no current Level 2 disciplinary action during the past 12 months; and,has received an overall score that is at least a Fully Meets Standards category (2.51 and above) on his/her last performance appraisal.
