Job Description Summary
Penn’s Division of the Vice Provost for Student Engagement (VPSE) is hiring, immediately, current, and incoming Penn students who are interested in serving as graduate assistants (GAs), course instructors, and program assistants ( PAs ) for: (a) 6th grade – 12th grade students attending School District of Philadelphia public schools, public charter schools, and Archdiocese of
Philadelphia schools; (b) current Penn undergraduates, and (c) veterans. All majors welcome, but we would love to hire students from all 12 of our fabulous Penn Schools! The VPSE Division works on behalf of the Provost with the Deans of the twelve Schools and other senior University Partners: to markedly increase access, participation, engagement, and outcomes of students
from cohort groups under-represented in postsecondary, graduate, and professional education by expanding their skills, knowledge, confidence, motivation, and preparedness to successfully navigate
relevant application and enrollment processes.
Job Description
Temporary Employee - Non-Exempt
Graduate Assistants and Program Assistants will be responsible for varying work depending on the VPSE program they are hired to support and will receive hourly pay, subject to taxes. Hours will vary, there will also be flexibility in the timing of the programming opportunities for late afternoon, early evening programming, Saturday, and virtual assignments.
