The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a school counselor position that is available at Falling Branch Elementary School.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The School Counselor will assist students with problems and decisions involved in understanding themselves and the world in which they live and will work. This individual will assist students in making decisions about their future schooling and occupational interests. They will also serve as a resource for parents/guardians, teachers, and other adults involved with the students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate as a school counselor, PreK-12 or equivalent
- An earned master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis in school counseling
- The ability to support students by cooperatively working with parents/guardians and teachers
- Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
- Have experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
- Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
- Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
PREFERENCE GIVEN FOR:
- Counselor and teaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experienced or have working familiarity with virtual education
SALARY: $50,072.26 - $83,120.04 annually, with benefits (commensurate with experience)
