Spring and Summer at Blake will take place on Blake’s Hopkins campus. Spring Break programs are scheduled from March 17-31, 2025. Summer at Blake will run from June 23 to Aug. 8, 2025. Candidates must be available for one week of training prior to the start of the seven-week day camp program. Transportation will be provided for all off-site excursions. Program staff report to the director of enrichment programs to ensure a safe, fun and nurturing environment for all participants.
Program Coordinators: Supervise and support the day camp staff and implement on- and off-site day camp activities
- Responsibilities include planning and overseeing activities that are enjoyable, safe and age-appropriate for campers ages 4–14 within their program specialty areas, communicating with parents, and leading day camp staff through training and community-building activities.
- Experience in the following is required:
- Summer programs/camps, employee supervision, implementing team and community-building curriculum for adults and children, strong interpersonal communication skills with all ages and abilities, multitasking, flexibility, ability to lift 40 lbs and proficiency with Google platforms (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Photos, Forms)
- Team coordinators are scheduled for 30–40 hours per week during programming time with opportunities for pre- and post-season planning responsibilities.
Camp Specialists and Instructors: Responsible for the overall design and implementation of camp activities in their respective areas: arts, athletics, aquatics, STEAM or nature excursions
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to develop and implement innovative instructional techniques that inspire and engage students in a camp setting, fostering a love of learning and personal growth.
- Schedules are flexible, ranging from 15–37.5 hours per week depending on the duration and number of programs taught.
- Programs vary from one to several weeks depending on the subject matter and age served.
- Enrichment camp instructors may opt to teach one or more theme or skill-based camps that meet for 3 hours per day for a week at a time while specialists may opt to collaborate with camp counselors to lead Day Camp at Blake daily activities in their respective area of experience.
Camp Counselors: Responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate camp activities in the Cubs, Bears, Adventurers and Leaders in Training Day Camps at Blake including arts, technology, athletics, recreation and field trips
- Experience in teaching children ages 4–14 or prior day/recreational camp experience is required.
- The adult-to-youth ratio is 1:10 or less in all programs.
- Counselors are scheduled Monday through Friday, 8am to 3:45pm with morning and afternoon extended day opportunities available.
Camp Assistants: Have the opportunity to gain experience working with children ages 4–14 in fun and flexible roles that support our programs and team
- Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.
- Training and mentorship will be provided.
- Schedules are flexible,with part-time and full-time opportunities available Monday through Friday between 7:15am and 5:45pm.
