KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth-grade students and has grown to serve 1,500 students across four schools. Of the students that attend KIPP Indy, 98% qualify for free and reduced lunch, 92% are African American or LatinX, 13% receive special education services, and 18% are designated as Multilingual Learners. Job DescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated high school math educator with a track record of instructional excellence and dedication to student success. KIPP Indy teachers are responsible for delivering rigorous instruction in Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus to produce strong student outcomes and understanding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging lesson plans and curricula in alignment with state and school guidelines for Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and effective teaching strategies.
- Regularly track and analyze student data to inform instructional practices.
- Maintain an organized, inclusive, and focused classroom environment that fosters academic achievement.
- Implement school-wide and classroom management policies to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Establish strong communication with students’ families to support their success and build a positive school community.
- Participate in school-wide events, family conferences, and professional collaboration with colleagues.
- Use formative assessments and data to make instructional decisions that promote academic growth.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and LIP students.
- Actively work with academic coaches to continuously improve instructional practices, embrace feedback, and implement strategies for professional growth.
- Take ownership of your professional development by seeking out learning opportunities and reflecting on your teaching practices.
- Embrace feedback and collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices.

- Valid Indiana teaching license or reciprocity process underway for a valid out-of-state license (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field (required).
- Mastery of Algebra, Geometry, or Calculus content (required).
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in high school math (preferred).
- Strong record of helping students in underserved communities succeed (preferred).
- Expertise in using data to guide instruction (preferred).
- Commitment to the KIPP mission and the Indianapolis community (required).
- Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required).
Additional Information
Licensed teacher starting at $50,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a highly competitive benefits package. Opportunities for performance-based bonuses are also available.
