2025 Business 10-Week Internship Opportunity!
At FCS Financial, part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, we are looking for 2025 Business Interns to join our Team! FCS Financial is a member of the largest agriculture lending cooperative in the United States today. FCS is offering internships to the growing Latino community in Missouri! FCS Financial offers every summer a paid 10-week internship opportunity (hotel, transportation, and food costs are covered by FCS Financial). The main goal of the internship give the opportunity for the students to learn about the business functions of the Association and also gain knowledge about the Latino Culture within the agriculture community. Students are encouraged to use bilingual (Spanish) skills.
The Business Internship is designed to expose the student to all areas of FCS Financial! Working with several mentors, interns learn the components of the lending process, from meeting the customer and taking the application, through credit analysis and decision, to appraisal and loan closing. Interns will work primarily in our Central Office in Jefferson City, Missouri, but will also spend time out in our retail offices with our Marketplace Staff. Time will be spent with various departments such as: Human Resources, Information Services, Legal, Operations, Audit, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Credit, Scorecard Lending, Information Services, Sales and Support, Appraisal, Crop Insurance, and Risk Management. The last few weeks of the internship program will allow the interns to customize their experience and focus on area of interest within the company.
The Business Interns will also complete one or more projects identified by FCS that are hands-on in nature and are approved by our Executive Leadership Team to add value to the Association.
Presentations to the Board of Directors, Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, mentors and other staff are done in late July prior to the end of the internship.
Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2024, for the 2025 Summer Business Internship Program.
The starting hourly wage is $18.00 per hour (Subject to Change).
This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

This 10-Week Internship opportunity will begin the last full week of May and will conclude the last week of July.
Internship Parameters:
Eligible interns must be:
- Latino/Latina
- Enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore, junior or senior) or as a graduate student in a 4-year institution of higher education in Missouri
- Preference given to those first in their family to be enrolled in an institution of higher education
- Preference given to those majoring in business, finance, agriculture, HR, or a related field
- The number of Latino internships being offered is two.
- The internships will take place in the Summer of 2025 over a period of 10 weeks
- The location of the internship site will primarily be at FCS Financial Central Office in Jefferson City, Missouri
- FCS Financial will provide for reasonable housing and transportation costs and a per diem to cover the cost of food.

Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications- Enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore, junior or senior) or as a graduate student in a 4-year institution of higher education in Missouri
- Preference given to those first in their family to be enrolled in an institution of higher education
- Preference given to those majoring in business, finance, agriculture, HR, or a related field
- Must have participated in the 4-H Youth Futures Program
- General knowledge of FCS Financial
- General knowledge of the agricultural industry
- General knowledge of agriculture/rural communities
- General knowledge of financial services industry
- General knowledge of basic financial/accounting terms and applications
- Skill in using Microsoft technologies including e-mail, word and spreadsheet processing
- Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
- Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and data and clients' data
