2025 Entry Level - Advanced Design Engineer
Description
JOB SUMMARY :
Support product research, performance analysis, configuration design, airframe layout, systems layout, planning, and business analysis related to aircraft concept development. Coordinate with key players of Engineering groups as well as Marketing and Finance to develop, implement, monitor, and status assignments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Develop aerodynamic models of new and derivative using a variety of in-house programs as well as ModelCenter, FORTRAN, MATLAB, C and MATHCAD codes by leveraging a combination of empirical, wind tunnel, and flight test data
+ Perform preliminary performance analysis on a wide variety of aircraft concepts, complete sizing and configuration trade studies to determine feasible solutions that meet design objectives
+ Perform Industry research and analysis in order to evaluate current and future products in the competitive landscape
+ Utilize CATIA CAD software to produce layout of airframe and systems components to support initial sizing and configuration development
+ Initiate designs or incorporate design improvements utilizing CATIA V5 and V6 software with an emphasis on modeling and drafting
+ Collaborate with other engineering disciplines such as Aerodynamics, Mass Properties, Flight Controls, Propulsion, Mechanical Systems, Engineering Flight Test, Stress, and Fatigue.
+ Consult and coordinate with other engineering and manufacturing personnel to coordinate design function and resolve technical problems. Consults with supplier to discuss and remedy issues in a more timely and efficient manner.
+ Maintain contact with Product Support Engineering and production departments to resolve engineering problems impeding production and to assist in the incorporation of new design concepts and changes.
+ Conduct financial analysis to support business case development of concept aircraft
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s Degree in:
+ Mechanical Engineering
+ Aerospace Engineering
+ Electrical Engineering
+ Other related field
QUALIFICATIONS :
+ Professional and diplomatic demeanor
+ Strong sense of accountability and integrity
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects
+ Understanding of 2D & 3D design concepts
+ Working knowledge of generic CAD design tool processes
+ Ability to read and produce 2D drawings using standard industry practices
+ Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
+ Experience in CATIA V5 or V6 is preferred
