Description
JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be part of a diverse team of engineers capable of executing in a fast-paced environment providing opportunities for simulation architecture conceptual design, systems simulation modeling, and test of configurations and technologies.
Responsible for Engineering projects from conception through planning, design and integration testing, supporting Experimental build activities and testing with Project and Experimental Flight Test groups.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Perform activities as required to accomplish objectives as established in the areas such as researching new systems in development, system modeling and integration.
+ Recommend establishment of group objectives to improve operational efficiency and ensure Textron Aviation’s competitive edge.
+ Design and development of software models to simulate various mechanical and electronic systems from the entire aircraft.
+ Design and development of software and hardware solutions to integrate aircraft hardware – both mechanical and electronic – into the simulator environment.
+ Responsible for requirements management, systems specifications, and interface management with both other engineering groups and with outside suppliers to maintain simulator configurations.
+ Coordinate with several engineering groups and outside suppliers to schedule and support simulator test activities.
+ Develop and maintain effective two-way communications both internally and with other departments to assure adequate dissemination of information concerning plans and developments.
+ Provide periodic reviews and updates to management on the status of program, problems and successes.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relative technical field
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Professional and diplomatic demeanor
+ Strong sense of accountability and integrity
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects
+ Experience with C programming language
+ Experience with Linux operating system
+ Ability to read aircraft drawings for mechanical, avionics, and electrical systems
+ Experience with Python programming language is desired
+ Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
+ Familiarity using Matlab/Simulink with basic control systems is desired.
