2025 Internship - Avionics & Electrical Systems Engineer
Description
JOB SUMMARY :
Gain valuable engineering experience in the area of design requirements including capture, design, validation, troubleshooting, and certification of aircraft avionic and electrical systems. Assist in the development and evaluation of crucial systems on Textron Aviation Products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system interface wiring using computer based drafting tools (CATIA/CCD and/or Siemens Capital).
+ Utilize electronic test equipment to verify avionics and electrical systems meet design requirements, and/or for system troubleshooting in the lab and on aircraft.
+ Assist in preparing engineering trade studies, functional test procedures, certification plans, ground and flight test plans, certification reports, and other engineering documents.
+ Write technical descriptions of subject matter pertinent to design or test requirements. Includes descriptions of supplier parts, test or rigging specifications, etc.
+ Assist with the evaluation and analysis of avionics and electrical system design for completion of function hazard assessments and system safety assessments.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Engineering Technology
- Minor or relevant coursework in Technical Writing, Business Administration, or Computer Programming is beneficial
QUALIFICATIONS :
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills
+ Experience with electronic test equipment preferred
+ Electronic drafting experience with CATIA-CADAM Drafting (CCD) and/or Siemens Capital preferred
+ C/C and assembly programming experience or coursework preferred
+ Experience with CATIA V5 and VPM preferred
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
