What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 28th, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.
The Intern will assist with the coordination and execution of various tasks and process the Software Engineering team to ensure the delivery of our core applications Audience Finder and Auto Analyzer. The role will require the intern to high-level understand the system architecture, align the team to engineering best practices, and ensure we are driving quality, while maintaining a backlog of features that deliver our customers needs. This role will require the intern to demonstrate an understanding of the inner workings of the products technical components and inner workings. This role requires strong analytical skill for both product insights and product data interaction. An understanding of Spectrum Reach’s business goals and competitive strategy will be necessary and demonstrating an understanding of the advertising and media industry.
Internship responsibilities may include:
- Participating in all Spectrum Reach Data SAFe Program Increment (PI) planning
- Assisting in the alignment and prioritization of objectives and key results (OKR)
- Assisting in develop KPIs for aligned to organizational goals
- Providing a structured and ready backlog of features in JIRA
- Participating in all team Agile ceremonies
- Conducting and driving Agile work sessions on feature refinement and grooming
- Effectively collaborating with internal stakeholders; such as Product Management, UX, Data Teams, etc.
- Providing metrics based insights of the product related to feature adoption, performance, quality results, and delivery metrics
- Executing all Program Increment identified features in a timely manner
- Conceptualizing a product roadmap for future business enablement
Here’s what it takes to get started
Required qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Preferred qualifications
- Demonstrable interest in ad tech / mar tech, advertising and marketing
- Demonstrable interest in technology, Agile, and SAFe practices
- Strong efficiency necessary in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, JIRA and Confluence
- Ability to learn and understand analytics tools including (HEAP, Tableau, Appcues) with provided training
- Excellent organizational and personal communication skills
- Ability to change direction quickly while meeting deadlines
- Work effectively and act professionally with all staff levels
- Ability to work with minimal/moderate supervision
- Ability to learn new processes quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while also working individually towards goals
- Strong attention to detail and quality
