What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 28, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.
Internship responsibilities may include:
- Research and Planning: Conduct research on AI techniques suitable for mobile platforms. Plan the development roadmap for the AI onboarding application.
- System Analysis: Analyze existing web services and mobile applications to identify repetitive tasks and workflows that can be automated through AI.
- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements for new projects and understand user onboarding processes.
- AI Solution Design: Design low-level AI-driven solutions to automate repetitive tasks identified during the analysis phase. This may include natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or other AI techniques.
- Prototype Development: Develop prototypes or proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of AI solutions for onboarding new projects.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document the development process, methodologies, and outcomes. Prepare reports or presentations to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Data Collection and Processing: Collect and preprocess data relevant to application onboarding scenarios. Implement data pipelines to support machine learning model training.
- User Interface Design: Create UI/UX or Figma designs to implement AI-driven features into the mobile application interface, ensuring usability and accessibility.
Here’s what it takes to get started
Required qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2025 - May 2026
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Preferred qualifications
- Passionate about AI, mobile technology, and creating impactful user experiences.
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Familiarity with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and mobile development frameworks (e.g., React Native).
- Enthusiastic about documenting AI Models, API, UI, & Database designs.
- Understand Agile scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with code repository such as GitLab, bitbucket.
- Ability to work in a team environment

- Proficient in Software including Adobe, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
