Position Summary

As a Summer 2025 Intern, you will have opportunities to learn and contribute to what’s on trend in food & beverage while building a robust network, demonstrating leadership skills, and having fun.
Reporting to the Director of Commercialization within Private Label Spices, the Commercialization Intern will work with the Spices leadership team and gain exposure to business operations as well as project work to optimize our farm to fork best practices. As we work towards standing-up new commercialization processes within ofi’s Private Label Spices business, we need to document & optimize best practices on how we get our products from farm to fork. The purpose of this project will be to partner with each of the cross-functional teams to build out responsibilities (RACI) for each of the critical sub-processes.
The ideal candidate should be in good standing with an accredited university and have a desire to pursue a career within the food industry. Desire to learn in a fast-paced environment while working with multiple teams across various locations and effective communication will be required for success in this internship.
Position Responsibilities
• Assess and analyze current-state processes; identify strengths and opportunities
• Develop familiarity with documented commercialization process & team members involved in each part of the process
• Collaborate with key functional leads to build out RACI model for each critical sub-process
• Lead and host cross-functional alignment sessions to present proposal for future-state
• Develop standard operating processes to create repeatable and efficient processes
• Lead and participate in ad hoc projects for the Private label Spices team
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
• High school diploma is required.
• Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Economics, Food Research and Development, Packaging Engineering and Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment is required.
• Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and data protection are required.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
The pay for this role in the city of Chicago is $22 /hour and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
