The Foundation engages partners to develop, execute, evaluate, and promote programs that build capacity to improve patient access to healthcare. Our programming is divided into 4 pillars: Adult Cancers, Pediatric Cancers and Blood Disorders, Neuropsychology, and Diversity in Clinical Trials across the United States, Brazil, India, and 10 countries in Africa.
Position Summary
The Intern will primarily support the Foundation Team in the management of the US Adult Cancers Pillar and support the other program teams based on needs. The Summer Internship will run June 2 - August 8, 2025 and is a 50% hybrid role in the Princeton, NJ area.
Strategy and Planning Responsibilities
+ Assisting in the development of plans, projects, and collaborative partnerships that advance the Foundation's philanthropic goals.
+ Conduct research to provide intelligence and input to assist the development of strategic grant-making and signature programs.
Stakeholder Management (internal and external) Responsibilities
+ Assist the Program Manager with grant making by reviewing and weighing in on proposals for funding, assisting with grant management by reviewing bi-annual program progress and expenditure reports, and participating in follow-up calls with grantees after report review.
+ Support communications for productive engagement with key members of BMS Immuno-oncology leadership, government affairs, corporate responsibility teams, and employees.
+ Develop opportunities to engage employees in Foundation programs and communicate the value of the Foundation to the business.
+ Support the building and maintenance of effective partnerships with key non-profits, government agencies, fellow funders, policy makers and leaders from academia who are engaged in delivering healthcare solutions to underserved populations.
Operational Responsibilities:
+ Supporting effective grant making including comprehensive due diligence, ongoing monitoring and comprehensive measurement of the impact of our philanthropic investments
+ Participate in project management across the range of program components in order to ensure optimal operation, impact and sustainability/legacy of corporate philanthropy initiatives and partnerships.
+ The main program components are: Formative research; Drafting and distributing RFPs, proposal logging; Communication with applicants and grantees; Grantee bi-annual reporting and monitoring & evaluations systems management; Managing large volumes of inquiries into the Foundation (solicited and unsolicited) and being responsive to all; Organizing annual grantee summit for all grant programs; Manage budget and resources to ensure that strategy and plans are delivered.
Communications Responsibilities
+ Draft senior-level briefings and ongoing reporting and analysis on program progress to continue to engage internal and external stakeholders.
+ Draft materials for Foundation board meetings
+ Support communications of the innovations and impact of Foundation programs via PowerPoint presentations, written articles, social media postings etc. Develop and execute Social Media strategy for grant programs
Qualifications & Experience
+ During the 2025 Summer Internship, you must be continuously enrolled in an advanced degree program in a health-related field. such as MPA, MPP, MPH, MSW, MS, or PharmD with a minimum 3.0 GPA
+ Students graduating Spring 2025 or earlier are not eligible
+ Knowledge/interest in Oncology, Public Health, Public Policy, or Social Impact
+ Knowledge/interest in implementation science, health systems strengthening, operational and outcomes research
+ Strong interest in health equity and improving health outcomes
