Engineering Internships – Substation Technical Engineering Group
TheEversource Engineering Internship Program is designed to deliver students with the opportunity to apply both classroom and prior experience learning to real life application. The program is 3-months in duration and provides everyone an opportunity to gain experience working in assigned engineering areas.
The Substation Technical Engineering group plays a critical role in acceptance testing and commissioning of new substation equipment and upgrades as well as trouble shooting of installed equipment. Work in close collaboration with Field Engineering to assess and provide initial response to substation disturbance and mis-operations, provide technical oversight and work with Operations, Protection and Control as well as Substation Engineering to develop solutions to operational based problems.
As an intern, you will assist department engineers and lead engineers with routine and special projects involving the SST group: These projects will include completing activities and assignments associated with improving the safe and reliable design and operation of the electrical transmission and distribution system. You will learn basic utility engineering concepts applicable to the group you are placed in and will also learn the principles of good customer service and electric reliability.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
You will need to be pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering. Ideally, you will have technical and analytical background and experience. Software experience includes Microsoft Office Suite
