Job Description
Job Summary: Hours will be a max of 15-20 hours per week. Schedule is yet to be determined and hours are before and or after the school day. Start date would be late August/early September to ensure smooth start to the 24-25 Targeted Services school year!
PLEASE NOTE there will be required material training to ensure we are in compliance Targeted Services statutes.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Communicate regularly with the Targeted Services Staff, students, and families.
- Develop ongoing out-of-school time program.
- Oversee program details such as book facilities space, plan field trips, request busing, and complete and process necessary paperwork.
- Promote effective use of time, materials and sets standard for student accountability.
- Implement and recruit students and staff for the school year and summer programs . This does mean helping to refer students to summer OMG or Game On programs.
- Maintain the continual well-being of the students in the program. For example, individual student conferences as needed with parents and staff.
- Observe student behavior and assist staff with student needs and behaviors.
- Keep student and program related records such as attendance, class request forms, schedules, and others as determined by the Program Administrator.
- Ensure teaching staff submit attendance on time each month!
- Manage and ensure every student enrolled has a Continual Learning Plan (CLPs) that are signed, and complete.
- Approve MyTime/sign time cards if needed. Communicate with program coordinator about attendance needs or absences.
- Assist with data reports or informaiton.
- Support and ensure staff are compliant with program guidelines such as attendance entering, lesson plans, activity structure, ratios, CLPs, graduation incentive codes, reporting, prep time, etc.
- Connect with families, parents, and the community and gather input periodically to use in planning.
- Community outreach to seek volunteers and program ideas.
- Prepare lunch/snack counts accurately and complete any required food service forms.
- Attend all staff meetings, workshops, and Community Education sponsored events.
- Train, develop, recruit, and supervise staff.
- Connect with nurse regarding medical needs as needed for students enrolled in program.
- Planning and purchasing of supplies and equipment. Work with program coordinator on these purchases.
- Track participant registration as it relates to targeted services enrollment.
- Coordinate a system for substitute staff and class cancellations.
- Maintain individual class budget worksheets as well as overall program budget.
- Work with other programs regarding shared space.
- Work with transportation to ensure actiivty bus use, and that students are picked up/dropped off on schedule.
- Coordinate wtih families if needed around student supports and services.
- Communicate regularly with school day staff and other center locations regarding student recruitment and progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 12 college credits or post-secondary courses in Youth Work, Education, Recreation, or similar field
- Out-of-school time experience preferred
- Prefer staff who has familiarity or has worked in Targeted Services programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include:
- Ability to plan, organize and implement programs.
- Ability to evaluate information and prepare recommendations.
- Knowledge of the techniques for providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact and work effectively with persons representing diverse cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently as well as produce work in a timely manner.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff and families.
- Knowledge of school and out-of-school time processes.
- Knowledge of safety and security practices like fire drills, weather related issues, and emergency preparedness.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to pay close attention to and manage details while maintaining a focus on the big picture.
- Ability to maintain time sensitive data and disseminate information appropriately.
- Be knowledgeable of the overall mission of the district and the policies and procedures of Targeted Services funding.
- Ability to recruit staff and students for the school year and summer programs.
Work schedule: Hours will be a max of 15-20 hours per week approximately. Schedule is yet to be determined but will be based on number of classes and days those classes are offered before or after school.

Desired Start Date: Start date would be late August/early September to ensure smooth start to the 23-24 Targeted Services school year as this position recruits other staff to teach and support the program.
