About the Job
Plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds
Weld repair and heat treatment of different materials including tool steels.
Determine specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining
Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same
Tear down, repairs and reassembles tooling on the bench or in the press as required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Journeyman Card or 5 years of verifiable Tool & Die experience
Progressive Die and Transfer Die Experience is strongly preferred
Problem solving skills, proven written & verbal communication skills
Metal Stamping and Automotive Plant Manufacturing experience preferred
