We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and knowledgeable Controls Technician to join our vibrant Engineering team. This role is best suited for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment and has a knack for problem-solving. You will be a critical part of our team, ensuring the smooth operation of our sophisticated control systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, with exposure to advanced technologies and a chance to work with a team of seasoned professionals.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, install, and maintain electrical control systems and components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.
2. Design and develop PLC-based control systems and interfaces for all areas of industrial automation.
3. Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on existing control systems.
4. Design control system architecture for new production lines and update drawings for existing lines.
5. Work with Siemens, Rockwell, Allen Bradley, and other PLC platforms.
6. Interpret and use appropriate ISO and industry standards.
7. Provide technical support to internal departments and liaise with customer and supplier companies.
8. Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques.
9. Evaluate operational systems, recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
10. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
11. Collaborate with design engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
2. Demonstrable proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, electrical controls, PLC, PLC programming.
3. Extensive experience with Siemens, Rockwell, Allen Bradley, or equivalent.
4. A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strict attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Must possess a deep understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations.
10. Certification or training in ISO and industry standards is a plus.
