2nd shift Data Center Technician (Elk Grove Village, IL) - Paladin Consulting, Inc

Paladin Consulting is currently hiring a 2nd shift Data Center Technician to join our team working onsite at our client's office located in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Job Title: Data Center Technician
Work Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Duration: Long-term contract with option to extend or hire
Hours: Monday-Friday 3pm-12am
Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma/GED required

Job Description & Responsibilities :

• They will be preforming rack and stack on servers and network assets in a data center
• The Tech will need to install and test fiber and copper cabling
• They will also need to know how to terminate copper
• They will need to reboot a device and have general familiarity with how severs work
• Experience using a Fluke cable tester would be highly preferred
• Work on ladders 7-8 feet off the floor
• Install servers that can weight up to 40-50 lbs. (will use a server lift and always working in teams)
• They are occasionally asked to be on trouble shooting calls or speak to the client
• Very fast pace and busy data center environment

Skills & Qualifications :

• Two years' working in a data center
• (If they have been leading a team for several years they would not be a fit as they need someone with boots on the ground)
• H.S Diploma
• Systems/Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite (especially excel and teams)
• Looking for some tenure with experience

• Teachability and positive attitude is a HIGHLY valued skill
• Able to work as a team
• Adapt
• Attention to Detail

Top Nice to have Skills:

• Outside accreditations
• Customer service experience
• Experience using a Fluke cable tester would be highly preferred
