Location: Rancho Cordova
Position Type: Full-Time on 2nd Shift - Monday through Friday, 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm (overtime as needed)

Job Summary: As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of our fleet of diesel trucks and equipment used in waste collection and disposal operations. Your expertise will ensure that our vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotations.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions.
Fleet Management:
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with the fleet manager to schedule regular maintenance and prioritize repairs.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Emergency Repairs:
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as needed.
- Work efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure timely waste collection services.
Parts and Inventory Management:
- Order and maintain inventory of necessary parts and supplies.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in the waste management or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and emissions control.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
