Thorgren Tool and Molding Co., Inc. is currently seeking to hire entry level Machine Operators at our location in Valparaiso, IN!
Job Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plastic injection molding machines and for assembling, inspecting, and packing parts in alignment wit the Thorgren Tool and Molding Co., Inc. quality and work standards.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Operate all equipment in a safe and productive manner
- Identify defective product
- Document production and other useful information
- Pack proper number of pieces and label box with the proper label
- Report any changes to Supervisors
- Trim, clean and assemble parts as required
- Adhere to all procedures in the Operator Procedures Guide
- Monitor material levels
- Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area
- Responsible for self development; think, focus
- Adhere to the Thorgren Tool & Molding quality policy
- Adhere to all instructions from shift and floor supervisors
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow instructions and work procedures
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting and machine operation, preferred but not required
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for an extended period of time during an 8 hour shift
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Employees are required to use their hands to hold and feel objects as well as to run machines and handle various types of tools and equipment. Employees must be able to lift up to 25-30 pounds repetitively throughout their shift. Proper PPE must be worn while performing job duties.
