Machine Operator
The Machine Popcorn Operator is responsible for working safely and efficiently on the production line to process food that meets safety and quality requirements. Tends machine or machines that processes candy coated popcorn as well as open slurry kettles. The operation is accomplished by fulfilling the following tasks.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years’ related factory, warehouse, or manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 2nd Shift Hours: 2pm - 10pm
* Benefit eligible after 60 days
* Paid Time Off eligible after 90 days
* Monday - Friday, weekends required, based on the business need
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety:
* Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
* Works near high temperature kettles and materials
* Maintain a clean and organized production area to promote a safe work environment
* Pre-inspect equipment to ensure all machinery is proper, intact and in safe working condition
* Notify supervisor immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered
Quality:
* Maintain and demonstrate a thorough understanding of processing specifications for varying products and materials
* Identify item numbers and lot codes
* Identify and setup correct raw materials, recipes, and utensils associated with each product
* Execute exact measurements per recipe to ensure gold standard is met
* Inspect and remove defective product from product line
* Perform safety and quality checks as needed
* Daily Record keeping for compliance
Production:
* Operate mixing kettles
* Add ingredients to mixer
* Effectively maintain kettle uptime to ensure efficient production flow for entire shift
* Monitor kettle performance and report kettle deficiencies to floor supervisor
* Assist with materials delivery as needed
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
* Fill in on other shifts when necessary and work Saturday on occasion
