2nd Shift Maintenance Technician - Advastar, Inc

DIRECT HIRE | 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician | Sycamore/DeKalb, IL area

Responsible for performing preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial machinery to enhance up-time and efficiency, while executing projects to improve safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

• Anticipate $28-34 per hour
• Anticipate 45-55 hours per week (OT)
• Typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 3:00pm-1:00am
• Position is UNION once employees complete 90-day probationary period

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily tasks and long-term projects as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Repair hydraulic metal stamping presses using mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical skills.
• Identify and fix root causes of equipment defects.
• Document all work, labor, and parts in the CMMS system.
• Troubleshoot issues using PLC program software.
• Assist in adhering to PM schedules.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Install or relocate machinery by disassembly and rebuild.
• Follow Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems preferred
• Experience in maintenance, millwright, electrical, or instrumentation/controls in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Strong communication skills.
• Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• CMMS system experience.
• Team player and individual contributor.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year vocational or trade school certificate in Mechanical or Electrical program is a plus
• OSHA 10-hour certification.
