Title: Welder / Fabricator
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:30 am
Reports to: 2nd shift lead and plant manager
Job Description
1.Responsible for fabricating and assembling various metal products using tools, machines and their own hands.
2.Build samples and test products.
Essential Functions:
1.Ensure working environment is clean and safe.
2.Operate fabrication machines such as resistance welders, MIG welders, TIG welders, hand bending tools, press brake, grinders, ring roller, saw shear.
3.Select appropriate material such as mild steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
4.Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, sketches and assembly instructions.
5.Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of operations, verify specifications and alter dimensions to fit specifications.
6.Complete minor maintenance on such as oiling machines, dies or work pieces.
7.Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed.
8.Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
9.Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
10.Report errors in production line
11.Complete quality control forms in accordance with company procedures.
12.Communicate and provide information to supervisors and coworkers.
13.Removes burrs, sharp edges or rust from work piece.
14.Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Competencies
1.Welding: MIG, TIG and Resistance.
2.Experience with stainless steel, plain steel, and aluminum.
3.Use measuring equipment (to include tape measure, micrometer etc.) for verification of parts to specification.
4.Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
5.Mechanical knowledge of machine and tools including the ability to learn new equipment and techniques.
6.Teamwork orientation.
7.Problem solving/analysis.
8.Technical capacity.
