OPS
The Manager has responsibility for leading, controlling, planning, organizing and evaluating the timely, effective and efficient delivery of the department's operations on a 24-hour basis. Through the incorporation of the Hospital's goals and objectives and nurse professional practice, this position is responsible for ensuring that the department performs to the highest possible standard within the resources made available, thus ensuring the delivery of quality care and service to patients, staff and visitors. The manager is accountable to the director. The
manager acts as a role model, has accountability for the departmental budget and Position Control, ensures the consistent application of the Hospital's policies and procedures and fosters teamwork within and between areas of
responsibility. The manager is also responsible for promoting specialized knowledge and skills through the support of staff education and professional development.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.
Licensure: State of California Registered Nurse license required.
Certification: Maintains unit specific life safety certifications required of staff nurses in assigned department(s). New hires/transfers have up to six (6) months to meet requirements.

Experience/Knowledge: Minimum three (3) years of clinical nursing experience related to clinical area of specialization as required by department, including one (1) year of management, supervisory or leadership
experience. Substantial knowledge of:
• Current nursing principles, theories and practices.
• Laws, regulations and hospital guidelines pertaining to professional nursing care of patients.
• Principles of CQI and ability to apply these principles including PDSA to improve unit work.
• Ability to promote effective collaboration and teamwork among individuals of multiple disciplines
and across organizational boundaries.
• Fiscal management skills to prepare monitor and control budgets and reduce expenses.
Specific Duties:
• Serves as a resource and role model to staff regarding current nursing theory and trends.
• Plans, organizes, evaluates and monitors all management activities of assigned departments.

and medical staff
• Exercise good judgment and tact in providing leadership, guidance and assistance
The hourly rate for this position is $80.05 - $100.06. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
