Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Our Maintenance Electricians are a valuable part of our team. Our Maintenance Electrician performs troubleshooting and preventative maintenance work throughout the facility during their shift. The priorities for this role include preventative maintenance, electrical & controls troubleshooting, training of all employees, repair of electrical & controls systems equipment and components, rebuilding of electrical & controls systems equipment and components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily electrical or controls tasks and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment and systems, including: Extruder, Dryers, Dry bulk storage & conveying, Dilute phase pneumatic conveying, High speed packaging including cartoners, baggers, case-packers, palletizers, thermal fluid process heaters, material handling systems, water chillers, compressed air systems, and HVAC systems Partner with operations and maintenance teams to solve repetitive problems, complete preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs and work Partner with operations to learn operating systems, while providing training to production teams on electrical & controls components Maintain all electrical systems to National Electrical Code standard Modify, add, and change electrical systems with little or no supervision Maintain current back up files for all equipment control systems Provide assistance with capital project development and implementation Maintain plant schematics and documentation on equipment Troubleshooting using machine control schematics Other duties, as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime Requires a two-year Electrical Technician degree and/or one of the following: Completed apprenticeship in electro-mechanical, electrical, controls or related field Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 3+ years hands-on experience in an controls, automation, or electrical role Must be willing to become CPR certified
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
MN State Class A Journeyman Electrician License Previous employee leadership experience Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Previous electrical & controls experience in a food manufacturing facility Previous experience reading blueprints and control schematics Previous experience with Allen Bradly, PLC, touch screens Previous experience with VFD’s OSHA 10 certification Experience with operation of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts
Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to lift up-to 34 pounds 6+ hours per shift Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds 3+ hours per shift Must be able to sit, climb and work off ladder, and operate foot pedals for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to work in a dusty and cold environment for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to work in high heat and humidity for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, walk, and reach above shoulders for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to stand 8+ hours per shift Must be able to work from a lift at heights of 35 feet + Must be able to work rotating schedule of 8 days on / 6 days off; 5pm-3am - OT as required
