Salary: Up to $60/hr (depending on experience)
Brief Summary of the Staff RN:
- The Staff Nurse (Registered Nurse) is responsible for designing and executing individualized nursing care plans for assigned residents and for the delivery of care to residents according to established plans of care and under the supervision of the professional registered nurse.
Qualifications of the Staff RN:
•Must have RN license in the state of New York
•Valid CPR Certification
•Must have long term care/skilled nursing experience
•Must have excellent leadership skills
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities and duties:
- Supports and promotes the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the nursing department consistent with the mission standards of the organization.
- Interviews each assigned primary patient to ascertain nursing history.
- Completes a physical assessment on primary residents and identifies problems.
- Establishes and maintains communication linkages with responsible parties of residents.
- Develops and maintains dynamic written nursing care plans for each assigned resident.
- Prescribes and regularly evaluates nursing and resident care plans for each primary resident.
- Collaborates and communicates with other disciplines to provide continuity of care.
- Provides direct resident care based on established scientific principles and in accordance with procedures.
- Evaluates residents’ response to medication and treatment.
- Supervises the care provided to primary residents by auxiliary staff
- Discusses primary residents at resident care conferences and care plan meetings to establish current and future care goals.
- Maintains accurate medical records and documentation according to procedure.
- Uses regularly scheduled unit staff meetings for problem solving and information exchange.
- Participate and attend all in-service education programs as required or indicated.
- Maintains good working relationships with all employees, visitors and residents.
- Shares responsibility for participating in nursing organization committees
- All other duties as requested by the Administrative Coordinators
