Title: 3D Environment Artist III
Location: Los Angeles, CA *Must be in office 2-3x per week*
Duration: 12 month contract
Compensation: $70.12-$85.41/Hour

As part of the Environment Art team, you will channel your knowledge of concepting, modeling, and texturing to help tell stories through visually compelling environments. Working within both design and technical constraints you will build optimized environments that enhance the purpose and mood of the game. Your craft expertise and eye for structure, form, shape language, and design will help build fantastic new worlds for our players to explore. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to ramp up quickly and own an area of the map.
As an 3D Environment Artist III on VALORANT you will begin by working directly with our Environment team to help create our Maps. You will create environments where visual clarity is of the utmost importance. As an environment artist on VALORANT, you are conversant in the FPS/Tactical Shooter space, you understand the impact of environment art on a highly competitive game and have a critical eye for quality and appeal.

As an environment artist on VALORANT, you are conversant in the FPS/Tactical Shooter space, you understand the impact of environment art on a highly competitive game and have a critical eye for quality and appeal.
Responsibilities:
- Build 3D assets ranging from hard surface structures to organic foliage
- Strong experience working with modeling, sculpting and texturing programs such as Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
- Interpret and push concept designs to the next level while taking into account technical and design constraints such as draw calls, poly counts, texture memory limits, and gameplay boundaries
- Communicate with various other disciplines to ensure all assets meet gameplay requirements, support partner disciplines, and are performant
- 5+ years of professional experience working in environment art
- 5+ years of professional experience working in Maya
- Experience working with various game engines from licensed to proprietary (Unity, Unreal, etc.)
- Strong examples of First Person environment gameplay spaces in shipped AAA titles
- Experience shipping at least one game title
