Job Description: Processing Team Lead 3rd shift
Location: Elizabethtown, NC
Position Overview:
The Processing Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the production of peanut butter and other food products. This role ensures the use of proper formulas, equipment, and sanitation practices to maintain the highest levels of food quality and safety. The Team Lead will work closely with production supervisors and operators to meet production goals, maintain safety standards, and ensure accurate documentation of operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify with production supervisors and Quality Assurance that the correct peanuts and ingredients are used, and ensure records are filled out correctly.
Distribute shift paperwork to operators and ensure it is completed and submitted properly.
Monitor operator attendance, breaks, and behavior, taking immediate action when safety concerns arise.
Communicate work instructions from supervisors to operators and team members.
Assist the production supervisor with training and monitoring new operators, providing hands-on guidance.
Oversee product flow, container filling, stock rotation, and sanitation processes.
Fill in for any department position during breaks or full shifts if needed.
Ensure compliance with sanitation schedules and actively participate in clean breaks.
Maintain accurate downtime records and ensure orders are fulfilled correctly and on time.
Help maintain a clean and sanitary work area during and at the end of each shift.
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Skills and Competencies:
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) training (new hire and annual).
Basic math and above-average communication skills.
Experience working with high and low pH chemicals such as Alpet and Alkaline cleaners.
Ability to learn and work with sanitation equipment 30% of the workweek.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to train and guide new team members.
Quality Assurance:
Adhere to GMP and all Quality policies and procedures.
Communicate daily with Quality Assurance to meet customer specifications.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing/production leadership role. Experience in food manufacturing is highly desired.

Forklift License
Aerial Lift License
Physical Demands:
Standing for long periods (2-3 hours before breaks).
Lifting up to 55 lbs. for up to 4 hours.
Climbing ladders or stairs for up to 1/3 of the shift.
Stooping, crouching, reaching, and handling objects throughout the shift.
Work Environment:
Combination of manufacturing and production/plant environment where physical hazards, such as industrial equipment and forklifts, are present.
