The position of Maintenance Tech II is responsible for providing the maintenance and repair of the plant’s machinery, grounds, buildings and equipment.

Responsibilities:
SAFETY:
- Maintains highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
- Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shields and aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility.
- Successfully acquires and maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance to OHSA and company requirements and standards.
- Performs daily inspection of power equipment with proper documentation.
- As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving.
QUALITY:
- Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility
- Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identified and participates in problem solving.
- Ensures compliance to quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, , OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
- Reviews, understands, and complies with all applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI).
- Communicates any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary.
TEAMWORK:
- Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production and support of our products and goals on a daily basis.
- Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
- Actively participates in Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects or tasks, and modification programs as needed with prior approval.
- Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and is involved with improvement/resolutions & follow-up.
FUNCTIONS:
- Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
- Evaluates & identifies potential problems, repairs & maintains electrical / mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Evaluates & identifies potential problem, repairs & maintains pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC and plumbing systems inside & outside of plant.
- Installs new and/or relocates old equipment.
- Performs necessary repairs and maintenance to buildings and grounds as advised.
- Cleans and repairs boilers.
- Identifies potential problems, repairs and overhauls and maintains crane systems.
- Completes preventative maintenance as assigned and completes required documentation as indicated.
- TIG welding with mild steel and/or stainless steel.
- Involved with project improvements.
- Assists with team meetings with all coworkers.
- Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
- Performs other duties / responsibilities as assigned by Management.
- Mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability are required, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to successfully work independently and as a team with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, ability to properly use/operate accurate tools and good math skills are required.
- Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast paced environment.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required, Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred.
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read and comprehend, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances. Lifting of up to 75 pounds repetitively. Standing required for up to 12 hours shifts with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. The noise level in the plant is loud.
SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the employee.
If facial hair exists, it must trimmed to allow proper wear of ammonia respirator mask.
