Hiring Range: $15.75 - $18.51 Per Hour
Full Range: $15.75 - $21.26 Per Hour
Pima Animal Care Center is the open-admissions animal shelter for Tucson and Pima County, taking in around 20,000 pets each year and providing a full range of animal services covering a 9,000-square-mile area. Due to the nature of our work, hours are non-traditional and may include weekends, evenings, and early mornings. We are looking to add an Animal Care Technician I to our Community Cat Program. This position focuses on improving the welfare of community cats in Pima County by providing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) resources and education to help residents find solutions for outdoor cats.
As an Animal Care Technician I, you will perform both fieldwork and administrative duties to provide solutions for community cat issues. This position will require driving a county vehicle and applicants must complete Pima County driver’s training. Fieldwork includes community outreach, trapping cats for spay/neuter, and working with caregivers of free-roaming cats. Administrative duties include answering emails and phone calls, data entry, and in-person client communication.
