Day to day as a 6th Grade Teacher - Woodland Park Campus
As a Full Time 6th Grade Teacher at our Woodland Park Campus, you can expect a dynamic and engaging day filled with opportunities to impact students' lives. Each school day will begin with morning preparations, setting the tone for an invigorating learning environment. Collaboration is key-participate in weekly team meetings to strategize engaging curriculum initiatives. Throughout the day, you will conduct hands-on activities, assess student progress, and provide individualized support to ensure every child thrives.
With a focus on integrity and safety, you will also handle classroom management duties. Your schedule will align with the school year, typically from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for a structured environment while still encouraging creativity and fun in teaching. Expect to engage regularly with parents and the community to enhance student experiences and promote a positive learning culture.

A willingness to participate in after-school activities and field trips is also important for fostering a supportive school community.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Effectively integrate biblical truths throughout all academic teachings
- Knowledge and experience instructing biblical curriculum
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established curriculum goals
- Employ a variety of instructional and technological techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students; utilizes current technology and variable modalities including hands-on demonstrations and activities
- Knowledge of and desire to use relevant and emerging technologies in the classroom
- Prepares appropriately for classes and shows written evidence of preparation, including lesson plans
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning; includes appropriate code of conduct policy
- Monitor and assesses academic progress; communicates with parents and administrators regarding the progress and potential of students
- Ability and desire to lead small peer groups of middle school students as a spiritual and relational mentor
- Organize and participate in field trips as appropriate
- Maintains accurate, complete, and up-to-date records, including attendance and grades
- Commits and fully supports the missional and organizational standards including our Core Values, Mission Statement, Statement of Faith and Christian Beliefs, and Doctrinal Statement

- Evidence of spiritual maturity and strong grasp of Christian education; ability to demonstrate true biblical integration through the subject area through effective communication
- Build healthy, effective relationships with students and families to support and enforce the biblical, whole-child educational experience
- Understanding of curriculum and demonstrated ability to integrate subjects into interdisciplinary units as appropriate
- Participate in curriculum and staff development training
- Participate in before / after school activities as requested by Administrator
- Work well with other teachers, support staff, and administrators
- Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day as well as an occasional evening activity as assigned
- Maintains a safe and orderly classroom to promote an inviting place for students to learn and to inhibit relational aggression
- Is competent with tests, assessments, and the use of data in making educational decisions
- Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned
