Assistant Residential Director
Allied Community Services seeks a Director of Residential Services, a professional with experience and a passion for supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. Our management team offers the right candidate the chance to work with a dedicated and very caring team of professionals. This position is salaried full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, with the option of an 8 AM-4 PM or 9 AM-5 PM daily schedule.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Responsible for providing assistance in managing, coordinating, and delivering five Community Living Arrangements, In-Home Support, Personal Support, and Medical Coordination for approximately 40 participants and 50 staff.
- Knowledge of CT Department of Developmental Services Policies and Procedures is preferred.
- On-call for consultation and emergencies 24 hours, seven days per week, in rotation with the Director of Residential Services.
- Assist with direct care shifts, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, when needed to provide programmatic needs, medical appointments, ED visits, and hospital stays.
- DDS Med, CPR, and PMT certified.
- Experienced with Key Performance Indicators.
- Works with agency behaviorists to prepare packets for the DDS Program Review Committee (PRC) and the DDS Human Review Committee (HRC).
- Works with agency nurses to promptly complete all mandatory medical appointments and nursing reports.
- Continually monitor the CLA’s preparation for DDS Quality Service Reviews and DDS Licensing inspections.
- Monitor the needs of the participants, staff, and homes.
- Responsible for overseeing and assisting on-site supervision in completing timely 6-month reviews, Individual Plans, and fire and emergency drills per CT state and federal guidelines.
- Ensure the application of Allied Community Programs’ Policies and Procedures.
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team, Employment, and Day Services for each individual to ensure individualized programming.
- Interacts with residents, parents, guardians, medical doctors, psychiatrist providers, DDS, and DSS.
- Experience interviewing, hiring, terminating, and recommending to the Director of Residential Services.
- Versed in annual staff appraisals and disciplinary counseling.
- Experience with financial practices, audits, and monthly budgetary guidelines
- Oversees program staffing to ensure compliance and adequate staffing coverage.
- Takes active role with in-house staff meetings, department head meetings, strategic planning, and continuous improvement plans.
- Continuous work towards strengthening programmatic infrastructure.
- Monitor training and professional development of all staff.
- Works to develop a cost-effective, recruitable, retainable workforce.
- Ensures ongoing operation and supervision of Residential Programs by assuming direct responsibility for supervising in the absence of supervisor(s) as needed and delegated by the Director of Residential Services.
- Performs other related tasks as needed or assigned by the Director of Residential Services.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Motivation and commitment to improving the lives of persons with disabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field providing direct assistance to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a preferred residential setting; experience may substitute for education.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Three years of management experience required.
- PMT, CPR, CT Med Certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and integrity essential.

SALARY
$60,000-$63,000 yearly salary.
