Job Description: AAADM Certified Door Technician

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and certified AAADM (American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers) Door Technician to join our team. As an AAADM certified technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and inspecting automatic doors to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring compliance with industry standards and enhancing the safety and accessibility of our clients' facilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Setup:

   • Install new automatic door systems according to manufacturer specifications and AAADM guidelines.
   • Program and configure door controls, sensors, and safety features.
   • Test installed systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.

2. Maintenance and Repair:

   • Perform routine maintenance checks on automatic doors to prevent malfunctions and ensure longevity.
   • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with automatic doors, including electrical, mechanical, and sensor-related problems.
   • Repair or replace components such as door operators, sensors, rollers, and tracks as needed.

3. Inspection and Compliance:

   • Conduct inspections of automatic doors to ensure compliance with AAADM standards and local regulations.
   • Document inspection findings and provide recommendations for necessary repairs or upgrades.
   • Assist clients in obtaining AAADM certification for their automatic door systems.

4. Customer Service:

   • Respond promptly to service calls and inquiries from clients regarding automatic door systems.
   • Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues and solutions clearly.
   • Provide training to clients on the proper use and maintenance of automatic door systems.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
   • Generate reports detailing work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance or upgrades.
   • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding documentation and reporting.

Requirements:

• AAADM certification is required.
• Proven experience as a door technician or in a related field, preferably with automatic doors.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and door hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and perform installations and repairs in various environments.
