Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Business Operations Manager, the Senior Academic Facilities Specialist will be responsible for the effective management of the School’s building and facility operations, creating an efficient, safe and productive physical environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Salary Range
$52,000-$60,000 per year, DOE

Essential Duties
- Coordinate and supervise all supplies, inventory, surplus, assets, and related activities.
- Manage all building and facility needs, including custodial, maintenance, furniture and equipment, space assignments, and building access.
- Coordinate and supervise facilities projects, including construction, renovations, and upgrades.
- Maintain budget tracking for all facilities related costs and activities.
- All other administrative or related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related experience three (3) of which include supervisory experience OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Administrative experience with specific focus in facilities management, with basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Experience in managing large scale renovation or construction projects.
- Experience in working with diverse participant groups, managing budgets and logistics.
- Experience in working in academic settings is a plus.
Working Environment
- Activities performed in both outdoor and indoor settings, subject to extended periods of sitting, frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, as well as stand for varying lengths of time and walking moderate distances to perform work.
- Lifting and moving as associated with set up and break down of events.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals, and electric cart.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Duties may require a flexible working schedule, including some early mornings, and occasional evening and weekend work, to coordinate special events and programs as needed.
- This position receives regular review of objectives by department administrator.
Department Statement
The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (SoMSS) at ASU is currently home to about 60 tenured or tenure-track faculty members, 60 instructional faculty, 10 postdoctoral associates, 200 graduate students, 1200 undergraduate student majors, and 20 staff members. The School teaches courses to over 20,000 undergraduate students each academic year. SoMSS recently started a new undergraduate degree program in data science. The School also offers bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs in applied mathematics, mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education, as well as undergraduate and masters programs in actuarial science. SoMSS has a strong interdisciplinary research profile that includes numerous collaborations inside and outside the university, such as in the biological, environmental, medical, physical and social sciences, education, and multiple areas of engineering.
