Marisol at The Cliffs Hotel & Spa is continuously growing and expanding! We are seeking a skilled, efficient, and motivated Line Cook who can create a sense of luxury through their culinary expertise; must be available to work mornings as early as 7am, weekends and holidays. Position Summary: Cooks and prepares a variety of products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, broths, breads and other edible products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prepare List.
Essential Functions of the job:
- On site work required
- Available to work 30 hours or more per week; Holidays and weekends required
- Have a neat and clean uniform at all times
- Understand Basic English
- Responsible for Line Set up
- Line Preparation for evening/morning shift
- Maintain daily prep lists
- Proper sanitation of station and all coolers, including walk in and reach ins
- Follow direction of senior kitchen management, executive chef, lead line, banquet chef
- Complete the opening and closing checklists.
- Use the Daily Prep List at the beginning of each shift to learn about assigned tasks and fill out the Daily Prep List for the next scheduled shift.
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other edible products
- Understands their portion of the line well and can maintain quality and cook at a high pace.
- Consistently understands and complies with our standard serving sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Keeps the work station area clean and safe, including tables, shelves, grills, ovens, fryers, pots and pans, convection oven, countertops and cooling equipment.
- Close the kitchen appropriately and follow the checklist for closing the kitchen stalls. Help others close the kitchen.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Promptly notify the Kitchen Manager of any problems with food equipment and quality.
- Immediately informs the Kitchen Manager of product shortages.
- Performs other related tasks in the way assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of prior experience is preferred
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen staff

Education, Experience, Skills:
- High school diploma; culinary degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of guest services in a luxury hotel setting.
- Understand basic English language.
- Ability to work with people effectively.
- Ability to multitask and work in mentally demanding situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand continuously for the duration of the shift (eight or more hours).
- Ability to lift small packages (excess of 50 pounds).
- Be able to stretch, bend, bend and lift frequently up to 40 pounds in weight.
- Ability to work in stressful situations.
