Position Summary:
Assists the Accounting department with various accounting processes listed below and various other tasks as assigned
Key Performance Outcomes:
- Ensure all invoices are paid in a timely manner
- Reconcile all accounts across all entities within five days of month end
- Eliminate late payments
- Minimize and/or capture all late rent and all associated fees
- Timely billing for various fee income immediately upon request
- Effectively reduce wasted effort through efficiency of performance in all key outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs accounts payable tasks to include facilitation of vendor correspondence, invoice management, journal entries and ensuring current W-9’s and certificates of insurance are on file
- Performs accounts receivable tasks to include facilitation of tenant correspondence, tracking of receivables, journal entries, collections, and late fee assessments
- Assists with month end, quarter end and year end closing
- Assists with lease administration tasks to include lease tracking and rent escalations
- Performs account reconciliations for Income/Expense accounts and bank statements
- Communicate via telephone and email with vendors and tenants as necessary
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of proven AP experience is required
- Associate degree or relevant certification is preferred
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, databases, and accounting software such as Yardi
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
