ASSOCIATE TECHNICIAN - TECHNICIAN - Fuels and Lubricants Research at Southwest Research Institute

Who We Are:
Scheduling Office of the Fuels and Lubricants Research Division.
Objectives of this Role:
- Provide close contact with Division 08 external clients on testing priorities and test availability.
- Monitor and initiate client test requests while properly dealing with external registration organizations.
- Work closely with other personnel (as a Team) to complete daily and routine tasks.
- Processes receipt of test oils other test materials working with shipping and receiving and oil inventory personnel.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Daily client communication; respond quickly and effectively to client inquiries.
- Be able to respond to technical emails inquiring about oil arrivals and testing availability.
- Monitor and complete daily test status. Work with test registration organizations to properly register tests.
- Discuss test availability and estimated start dates with clients and SWRI engineers.
- Work closely with internal SwRI project leaders and laboratory staff to properly schedule testing.
- Keep track of test counts and hours for several engine tests to ensure tests are run in referenced and calibrated test stands.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Be willing and able to work overtime as required; work in a high-output team environment with daily deadlines.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate’s degree from an accredited university is strongly preferred.
- 1 years: Laboratory experience with desire to learn laboratory environment.
- 1 years: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is highly desirable. Ability to learn and work daily with SwRI-developed software.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. Must be able to courteously deal with public and clients. Must be able to work in a team.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
