About the Job
Benefitfocus Account Managers are dedicated to conveying product knowledge through a commitment to customer service providing Enterprise level support. Account Managers collaborate with the extended Benefitfocus family to provide Customers with preemptive service related to our Benefitfocus Marketplace product offerings. This Associate will work closely with internal departments including: Engineering, Customer Implementation, eExchange and Production to achieve desired results. Each Account Manager is responsible for an estimated 10-12 Customer accounts throughout the state of North Carolina.
Job Description:
- Provide anticipatory service via phone and email to support Human Resource teams utilizing the Benefitfocus Marketplace product.
- Act as a primary point of contact responding to questions related to online enrollment and eEnrollment applications; resolve and escalate Customer requests as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the Benefitfocus Engineering team and Customers when researching and reporting on application inquiries.
- Manage projects focused on continuous improvement of software applications and data exchange processes insuring operational performance within program and delivery standards.
- Assist HR Administrators with benefit policy changes or updates including additions or cancellations of coverage, and renewals.
- Communicate new software releases and functionality in Benefitfocus products as needed.
- Negotiate and suggest additional product offerings to each Customer.
- Prioritize tasks and keep a continuous relationship with Insurance Carriers, Customers, and other internal resources.
- Participate in creating and conducting presentations during onsite Customer visits.
- Configure the Benefitfocus Platform with benefit changes for Customer renewals.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor�s degree required.
- 3+ years of prior experience in an Account Management or Client Relationship Management role
- Strong technical knowledge
- Effectively and consistently manage Customer satisfaction
- Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources practices and benefits administration is a plus
- Excellent listening, communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation and consultative selling skills
- Must be an outstanding problem solver
- Previous experience working with CRM or other advanced database systems
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- MS Office skills are required
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong business acumen
- Strong team player with ability to work collaboratively across all business areas
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
