Accountant
Successful local company searching for sharp, energetic individual with superior organizational skills and attention to detail. This position will maintain organized accounting records and assists the Controller / Administration as needed. Initial Responsibilities will range from overseeing accounting functions (A/P, A/R) to special projects and spreadsheet reports (Excel). Minimum qualifications require an understanding of accounting principles and the capability to work efficiently with QuickBooks.
Starting Hourly Pay Range for This Position: $22.00 to $25.00. This is based on previous work experience, skills, and current certifications / professional licenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable.
- Manage Accounts Receivable.
- Review / Reconcile credit card and bank accounts.
- Prepare workman's Compensation worksheet for review and submission. Handle workers comp audits.
- Review data entry of new clients and invoicing.
- Journal entries.
- Assisting the Financial Controller with Month-End reporting, Year-End closing, and Year-End review.
- Special weekly and monthly reports using QuickBooks and Excel.
- General Office Duties.
Requirements:
- A Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- 2+ years of recent accounting experience required.
- Previous experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Previous experience using QuickBooks Enterprise and Excel
- Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and use of automated accounting programs.
- Strong oral/written communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to Multi-task and work under time constraints.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Current driver's license with a clean record is required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment for The Administrative Assistant:
- Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
- Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 25 pounds.
