About This Role
The Purchasing & Travel Accountant will be responsible for managing procurement, travel, Foundation Fund payment requests, and inventory duties for the assigned departments within the Division of Academic Success & Student Affairs. The accountant will also assist in ensuring the Accounting Team provides smooth uninterrupted services for assigned areas.
About Us
The Division of Academic Success & Student Affairs (DASSA) is comprised of 14 campus-wide departments. The business office serves as the direct administrative, financial, and personnel resource for the 6 following departments: Academic Success & Student Affairs, Student Support & Accountability, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Belonging & Inclusion, Student Well-being, and Academic & Career Engagement.
Worksite Option
This position is on-site.This role is expected to be performed on-site Monday-Friday.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- One year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in electronic accounting & financial systems.
- At least 2 years of experience in vendor payment processing.
- At least 2 years of experience in purchasing & procurement.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
- Experience working with travel reimbursement programs (Concur).
- Experience with K-State or working in higher education.
- Knowledge of K-State and State of Kansas financial regulations, eForms, and the University FIS system.
- Ability to learn quickly, determine priorities, take initiative, work independently, and perform highly detailed tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly express information.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills (patience, courtesy, respect, etc.)
- Ability to maintain consistent and punctual attendance and participate as a contributing member of the office team.
