Sodexo is seeking an Accounting Assistant 2 reporting within the Construction division of a Oil &Gas company in Houston, TX. We need a natural problem-solver, who thrives on challenges. Who enjoys a high energy, fast paced environment.
The successful candidate responsibilities will include:
- Monitor a shared mailbox and respond to emails within a timely manner.
- Perform various clerical functions in support of the company's or department's financial tracking, review approvals, job files, risk review log and proposal log.
- Participate in financial audits and supplier compliance reviews
- Analyze and process Accounts Payable for Construction projects with appropriate delegation of approvals and discrepancy resolution.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve issues/reconciling items.
- Participate in the financial close process including journal entry preparation/submission and monitoring of accounts payable activity.
- Provide accounting support as well as guidance on company policies and procedures to Sodexo's business operators and internal accounting teams.
- Perform miscellaneous administrative functions

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, an advanced level of expertise managing and producing spreadsheets in Excel.
- Analytical mindset.
- Ability to provide efficient and accurate work with focus on both quality and quantity, and strong organizational skills.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to document solutions.
- Demonstrated skills autonomously managing multiple tasks.
