About the Job
Valley Industries is looking for a Full Time Accounting Clerk! This individual will perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting data including accounts payable, billing, and receivables.
Essential Functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
- Enter return goods authorizations for customer returns.
- File monthly sales tax reports.
- New customer and new vendor data entry.
- Send monthly statements to customers.
- Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
- May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-4 year degree in Accounting preferred.
- Bookkeeping training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
