POSITION SUMMARY
Texas Inter-Faith Management/40i is a non-profit organization affiliated with The Inter-Faith Group (IFG), which is an alliance of seven independently operated non-profits that share a collective mission to create quality affordable housing and support services to families. This position requires a professional, organized, and detailed individual with excellent computer and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Assistant position will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department and ensuring accurate financial records.
- Proficiency in financial software.
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Review files, reports, and other documents to obtain information and respond to requests.
- Manage disputes, cancellations, refunds, etc.
- Develop and improve processes and tools to successfully perform role in support of the Finance & Accounting Team.
- Experience with vendor review negotiation, communication and payment.
- Resolve accounting issues as they arise and follow-up on discrepancies.
- Matching invoices to purchase orders/sales orders, data entry, and assisting with accounts Payable and Accounts receivable.
- Organized and self-motivated.
- Effective communication; written, verbal, and listening.
- Strong Excel, Adobe, and other MS Office products are required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Must be familiar with apartment / multi-family leasing and Fair Housing.
- Apartment software experience is a bonus.
- Excellent customer service and data entry skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail.
- Bilingual is a plus.
