Are you a seasoned accounting professional with a knack for numbers and an interest in the biotech industry? We are looking for a full time Accounting Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves challenges, and is passionate about financial management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations, including forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
3. Manage the forecasting process, making adjustments as necessary to reflect changes in business conditions or strategies.
4. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
5. Ensure compliance with all internal and external accounting standards and regulations.
6. Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.
7. Manage the preparation of annual audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
8. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting process.
9. Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
10. Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level accounting or financial management role.
3. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
4. Experience in the scientific industry is strongly preferred.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop staff.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
