Job Details
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts/disbursements, billing, and general ledger management/ERP management.
- Prepare account reconciliations, specifically: cash, other assets/liabilities, accruals, prepaids, A/R (& reserve), A/P, debt and equity section of balance sheet.
- Develop and distribute cost center/departmental/discretionary spend reporting.
- Work with Controller to prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with established timelines for lender/PE - Sponsor and internal reporting.
- Manage and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Monitor compliance for local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Ad hoc support to the Controller and CFO on process improvement initiatives, analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years relevant experience in accounting/finance in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
- 2 plus years “Big 4” public accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with the month-end/year-end close process.
- Experience utilizing an end-to-end ERP system. (SOP, POP, MOP and general ledger)
- Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of GAAP.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel.
