Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for an Accounting Payroll Specialist for one of our clients in Raleigh, NC. The Accounting/Payroll Specialist is an associate-level position responsible for essential accounting and payroll processing tasks. This role includes handling daily accounting functions, payroll management, and supporting the month-end financial closing process.
Responsibilities:
- Complete journal entries and Excel files related to banking and payroll.
- Retrieve daily bank activity and perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end journal entries for the main corporation.
- Process payroll for staff, including pre- and post-payroll tasks.
- Prepare and distribute monthly payroll reports.
- Compile and review monthly Accounts Receivable reports detailing physician productivity.
- Prepare bank deposits and maintain related Excel documentation.
- Process returned checks according to company protocols.
- Maintain and update documentation for all processes used in this position.
- Prepare Sales and Use Tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with state tax laws through Escheat data completion.
- Serve as a back-up for the Accounts Payable Specialist as needed.
- Perform additional accounting and payroll tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 10 years of general accounting and payroll experience, or 3-5 years of general accounting/accounts payable experience, plus 5 years of payroll experience
- Excellent data entry skills
- Experience with payroll and accounting software
- Advanced proficiency in Excel & QuickBooks
- Strong time management, problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
Salary
30 - 32 /hour
